The Exclaim Digital Media Management (DMM) platform powers Exclaim’s branded User Generated Content (UGC) and infotainment applications under the Pictavision and MyApps brands and also enables wireless carriers and media companies to offer their consumers the ability to instantly connect, exchange and share UGC and published content with the rest of the world through integrated, customizable offerings.

DMM essentially serves as a central media management hub for routing, storing, synchronizing, distributing, pushing and enhancing digital content for mobile users. This encompasses many different types of “Digital Media Exchange” Points (DMEPs); from branded Web 2.0 photo, video and social community portals, to other wireless devices, home media (including plasma screens and home printers) and even retail outlets and kiosks for print merchandising, and many more.

The DMM middleware platform facilitates the transfer of rich media content both to and from mobile devices. Thus, not only can UGC content be uploaded, downloaded, enhanced and messaged by mobile users from their devices, but these same users can also have premium or advertiser supported rich-media information, news and entertainment content pushed and delivered to them.

DMM is highly customizable and allows mixed deployments. These can include downloadable handset clients for after-market on-deck distribution and feature intensive application offerings to mobile subscribers, as well as client-less versions that utilize existing handset and wireless device messaging, transport and digital content management application frameworks resident on devices from OEMs.

It is significant that the DMM platform can accommodate any type of wireless digital capture device – not just cell phones. Exclaim’s DMM can just as easily connect to wireless digital cameras over WiMax and WiFi as well as professional or enterprise devices utilizing our simple device API for routing images. Our DMM server applications take care of all content routing, enhancement, tagging and authenticated upload to virtually any type of digital media exchange point.

User generated content can be shared with multiple exchange points simultaneously, including all the major on-line UGC portals (such as Flickr, Facebook, Kodak, HP Snapfish, Walgreens, Google Picasa, MSN Spaces…). New communities are being added all of the time.

At the heart of the DMM platform is a flexible DMEP API that can be integrated to desktop computers, and even in-home networked devices such as TVs, DVRs and printers. DMM’s next release will include a bi-directional Sync service that will allow digital photos and videos to flow from a user mobile device to and from a desktop computer providing automatic updating of content captured on a mobile device with a user’s primary storage and viewing device.
